Waltzing Matilda

I was thinking about Waltzing Matilda this week. As a possible Australian equivalent to derive... or as a possible phrase to describe my art practice.

Apart from seeing it in a very very abstracted metaphorical way, this seemed ridiculous. I have nice shoes and stay in a nice hotel rooms. In a jetlagged haze in LA I was thinking it was impossible to find any real connection to a suicidal homeless itinerant worker involved in a violent industrial dispute. Luckily ridiculous is my kind of thing.
