In developing ideas, techniques, art practice or anything, the importance of feedback can never be underestimated. It has been my dream for a few years, I think two but it might be three... to be able to generate feedback using an electric guitar and an amplifier. Not having either of these things: or a spare $1000, or the nerve to ask anyone if I could borrow their stuff so I can potentially do irreversible damage to it, or any desire to play the electric guitar or have one in my house...... I have attempted to make some feedback with a new very cheap mixing board, some microphones and some new cables to connect machines I have that have never spoken to each other before.
